Pokemon Go Official News Update-3/24/16

Hey guys, this is going to be the first post I'll be making. I have decided to do a quick update of confirmed facts about the game. Everything I'll be including will be from official Nintendo and Niantic websites/social media. So less of me talking...lets get into this:

UPDATE-3/24/16

Compatibility:

According to released photos from Nintendo and Niantic, it seems that this game will be for BOTH Android and IOS. I've included some photos from niantic's twitter page and nintendo...

"Pokémon GO will be available for download at no charge on the App Store and Google Play. In-app purchases will also be available."(nintendo)

Where do Pokemon appear, and how will they be caught?

Nintendo and Niantic both claim the gaim will have Pokemon appear based on location. Just like Niantic's game Ingress, Pokemon go will be based on your location in real time...and will show in the game(as shown in the photo on the right above and nintendo). In terms of catching them, pokeballs will be required. Nintendo also mentioned that there will be in app purchases(that's how they will make their revenue) and pokeballs will definetly be included somehow as a purchase option or extra inventory type thing.

Here are some verified things already released by Nintendo and Niantic

1. Some wild Pokémon appear only in their native environments (water-types in lakes!)2. Smartphones will need Poke Balls to catch Pokemon3. Poke Balls will be able to be attained at PokeStops4. PokeStops will be located at "interesting places such as public art installations, historical markets, and monuments"5. Trainer level will be in play!6. Increasing Trainer level will require various activities, such as battling - just like the original game series7. Higher levels allow access to capture higher level Pokemon and "more items"8. "Some Pokémon can be evolved if the same species is caught on multiple occasions"9. Pokemon Eggs!10. Trainers will be able to find Pokemon Eggs at PokeStops11. Pokemon Eggs hatch after players walk a certain distance12. In addition to leveling up, challenges will give Trainers achievement medals13. Trainers will be "encouraged" to join one of three teams14. Trainers will be encouraged to engage in Gym battles with other teams15. Trainers will be able to assign their Pokemon to empty Gyms16. Gyms can be found at real locations in the world, like PokeStops17. Each Trainer will be able to assign one Pokemon per Gym18. Gyms claimed by one team can be challenged by Trainers from either of the other two teams
